New start
The terraces are reopening, the children
are going back to school and we are allowed to get a haircut again.
Many companies are slowly getting back to
normal. That counts for me as well. I’ve received the first Olivia-bags from the
production company in Italy and I’m expecting the second model this month.
Which is very welcome, because I was completely sold out!
The last months were quiet. It was – and is –
a weird time, from which we will hopefully learn something.
For example how it isn’t always necessary to keep
producing and consuming. It’s time for a new start.
For the Olivia-bag, my personal favourite,
I also see a new start.
The model isinspired on a heirloom from my aunt.
She gave it to my mother,
who gave it tome three years ago.
You can wear it in three different ways: as a clutch, around
your hips or as a small crossbody bag.
My favourite diary by Dutch designer
Marjolein Delhaas fits exactly in there. And the best thing is: I started a collab
with her. The first ten people who order the new Olivia-bag,
receive the Marjolein Delhaas-diary.
Last week I was supposed to be in Italy to talk over two
new models. Because of
the coronavirus this wasn’t possible.
To keep myself busy in the meantime, I
started to design the Hanneke-bag in a different leather type. So you see: this
weird time brings along new opportunities. If the production hadn’t been paused,
I wouldn’t have thought of designing with this new leather type. That’s why I say:
embrace these new opportunities. Embrace a new start!
